On this page, you will read about the different seed variations available

so that you can make the perfect choice for your next grow.

Autoflowering seeds are cannabis seeds that begin to flower when the plant has reached a certain phase of development.  This is opposed to photoperiod flowering, in which the plant begins to flower when the hours of light are reduced.  Auto strains are some of the easiest to grow, making them ideal for the beginner cultivator.  They are hardy, boast impressive resilience to pests and disease, produce highly potent cannabis plants with a short flowering period and are ready to harvest much sooner than photoperiod varieties.  In most cases auto strains only require 8-10 week from seed to harvest but some strains may require 12 to 15 weeks .  They are easy to maintain, require no light manipulation and are perfect for growing indoors. They are also inherently tougher than feminized seeds.

Autoflowering or day neutral cannabis varieties automatically switch from vegetative growth to the flowering stage based on age as opposed to the ratio of light to dark hours required with photoperiod dependent/ short-day strains.  The faster growth rate and the compact size of the plants will mean they will have fewer bud sites and therefore smaller harvests compared to the larger photoperiod plants.  Auto’s can produce buds with the same quality levels as photoperiod feminized seeds.

A feminized seed is a type of seed that has been specifically bred to produce only female plants.  If growing with feminized seeds, you shouldn’t need to worry about sexing your plants all that much.  While not 100% guaranteed, there is only a very slim chance that a feminized seed will produce a male plant.  About 1% in fact.

Feminized photoperiod plants flower depending on the hours of light they receive.  Out in nature they start to bloom when the days get shorter at the end of summer.  Indoors, flowering is initiated by adjusting the lighting to 12hrs on, 12hrs off. Feminized seeds tend to produce greater yields and in some cases, more potent cannabis than auto-flowering and regular seeds.

Just remember that feminized seeds are produced for the purpose of growing out once, not for making mother plants. Feminized seeds are only fit for a single harvest, and their genetics tend to become unstable when cloned.

Regular seeds have a 50/50 chance of emerging as male or female.  Although a lot of growers aim to grow female-only crops to obtain as many viable flowers as possible, regular seeds are vital for breeders and for growers that like to start their plants from clones. They are more suitable for cloning than their feminized counterparts.  These clones will be much more stable, possess stronger genetics and are less likely to become hermaphrodites.

They are 100% pure and chemically un-altered just as Mother Nature intended. They are bred naturally from a male and female parent and can produce male and female plants.  They are some of the purest genetics available and produce approx. 50% of each male and female offspring when grown in normal conditions.  Male plants are more robust and faster growing and easily recognizable in very early stages so they can be removed well before there is any risk of pollenating the female plants.

Regular seeds are paramount in the creation of novel strains.  Regular seeds also tend to produce more vigorous plants.
